  • Cylinder threadingNeck threads checked for wear and damage
  • Internal inspectionInside of the cylinder examined for corrosion and defects

Why it matters

A tested cylinder is a safe cylinder

A CNG cylinder holds gas at very high pressure. Periodic testing finds corrosion, damage and weakening of the cylinder wall before they become dangerous.

Testing at the intervals set by the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016 is also a legal requirement — a cylinder that is overdue for its test should not be refilled.

FAQ

Common questions

How often does a CNG cylinder need to be tested?

Periodic test intervals are set by the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016. For CNG cylinders on vehicles this is typically every three years. The next due date is printed on your test certificate and shown in your account.
